This is the Greek version of the Sphinx, though usually the Sphinx was depicted as a female. That is unless you are referring to the lesser known human-headed winged lions that were carved from stone by the Assyrians and usually placed as magical guardians to temples and palaces. They are called lamassi (lamassus in the singular). These guardians are easily distinguished by their beards, horned caps and clothing.
