about 3 days
I just received mail from Dublin that was sent out last Wednesday and I received it today (the following the Tuesday). So I'd say about 6 days.
Roughly 14-20 days at the minimum.
Officially, for airmail, it takes about 5 working days, starting the day after posting.
How long it will take a letter to get from Dublin, Ireland to Boston, Massachusetts depends upon the type of postage service paid selected. Standard delivery can take between 5 and 7 working days while express post international takes 4 days.
no more than a day or two (or three or four, at most)
If your are referring to the troubles in Northern Ireland, then the answer is no. A number of incidents did happen, most notably some bombs on the 17th of May 1974 that exploded in Dublin city centre, and which killed people, but in general the activity was mainly in Northern Ireland. The nature of the troubles in Northern Ireland, was not open warfare. It was all incidents, like an individual being shot and then absolutely nothing would happen for days or even weeks, before another incident. It was not like a regular war.If you are referring to other incidents in Irish history, like the 1916 Easter Rising, then there was fighting in Dublin.
There are many of these. Here are just a few: The Dublin Film Festival. The Dublin Theatre Festival. The Festival of World Cultures in Dún Laoghaire. The All-Ireland Hurling and Football finals. The Dublin Horse Show. The St. Patrick's Day festivities - which is now the St. Patrick's Festival and has events for several days.
It would take the average sailboat, traveling at 6 Nm/hr, approximately 6 days to reach New York from Ireland.
There have been blizzards in Dublin, but they are rare. As for when it could happen again, it is not possible to reliably predict weather more than ten days ahead. So we cannot predict it longer than that. Look at the Irish Met office's website.
