If you are in your home got to you basement or to an interior room on the lowest floor of you house. Leaved trailer homes for sturdier structures. If you are outside, seek shelter in the nearest sturdy building. If none is available, take cover in a ditch or depression as a last resort. If you are in a car and the tornado is distant, try to drive diagonal or at a right anlge to the path of it. If it is near, abandon the car and get in a ditch.

Is it possible for a tornado to go south?

Absolutely. A tornado usually follows the path of the storm in which it results. So, if a storm is going south, the tornado has a high priority of going south. It is also possible for a tornado to go in a different direction than the storm in which it forms. For example, if a storm is headed west, a tornado could develop and go north. Hope this is helpful.
