In "Eragon," the Urgals break the treaty with the Varden by allying with Galbatorix, the antagonist of the story. They fight against Eragon and the Varden in battle.

Brom didn't want Eragon to go to the Varden because he believed Eragon was not ready for the dangers he would face there. He also wanted to protect Eragon from Galbatorix's forces finding and harming him. Additionally, Brom wanted to keep Eragon's identity as a dragon rider hidden until the appropriate time.

Who are the twins in the book Eragon?
The Twin are identical magician that examines theminds of all that enter the Varden. They are also traitors to the Varden. They betrayed Arya's location to Durza, kidnapped Murtaugh and many other acts.
What is the conflict for eldest?
The conflict is when Murtagh comes to the battle between the varden and the empire - he is not dead - he is a dragon rider sworn to King Galbatorix. His dragon's name is Thorn. He kills King Hrothgar and battles Eragon and Saphira and defeats them, but Eragon sees the heart in Murtagh and convinces him to let Eragon and Saphira go. Before Murtagh leaves, he tells Eragon that he is his half brother, making Eragon Morzan's son. He then takes Eragon's sword and retuns to Uru'baen. Roran kills the twins - also alive and evil - and the Varden defeats the empire. Read on in Brisingr, the third book, for more.
Who is murtagh in book eldest?
Murtagh is the son of Morzan, the first and last of the forsworn. He was introduced in book one where he traveled with Eragon to the Varden.

IN ELDEST ERAGON FINALLY LEARNS THAT MURTAGH IS HIS BROTHER. ALSO RORAN'S FUTURE WIFE IS KIDNAPPED BY THE RA'ZAC AND RORAN AND THE REST OF CARVAHALL GO TO THE BATTLE FIELD WHERE THE VARDEN AND ERAGON ARE FIGHTING. MURTAGH ALSO GETS HIS DRAGON. IN BRISINGR RORAN AND KATRINA MARRY, OROMIS AND GLAEDER DIE, AND THE VARDEN TAKE OVER FEINSTER.
