If you are trying to lose or maintain your current weight, healthy balance meals are vital. So you can eat the same foods that you would normally eat.

proteins, healthy fat, carbs... (before workouts)

However, post workout is important and you should always include proteins in your post workout. The other key is to make sure that you eat at least 30 minutes after your workout.

Lastly, post workouts is the time where you can incorporate foods such as rice (brown) and potatoes... not french fries, within your meal but not after every post workout.
