A one-dish meal should only be counted as a one-dish meal if it contains this 5 components. Why isn't water counted as nutrient? Water's functions are only to regulate the body temperature, lubricates joints in our bodies, helps in removing waste materials from the body, maintaining the fluid balance, and participating in many chemical reactions within the body. It does not have functions that a nutrient should have, much less counted as a nutrient. A nutrient's function should be : Providing the body with energy for daily activities - Carbohydrates and fats Building up muscles and bones for growth - Proteins Protecting the body againt illnesses and diseases - Vitamins Repairing and replacing the damaged cells - Proteins Keeping the body warm - Fats If you find any error in this, feel free to point it out.
