  • High protein diets often restrict carbohydrates. This could lead to malnutrition if you don't make up the essential nutrients somewhere.
  • Often times, high protein diets don't come with many restrictions to the types of protein and in turn you end up consuming excess fat. That could lead to cardiovascular problems.
  • It may cause extra strain in the liver and kidney (having to breakdown all the excess protein)
