Same sort of stuff as cattle anywhere else eat, except they aren't exactly fed, they have to more or less feed themselves, since 99% of all cattle in India have free-reign and aren't confined like cattle in Europe, Australia/New Zealand, North America and South America.
Cows are considered sacred by Hindus. In early Vedic times, cows were used as a medium of transaction, i.e. money. Hence, Hindus don't eat cows.
