There are not really "three things" that cows eat, it's more or less the three types of things cows eat. Cows can only eat one thing: plant matter. The three main types of plant matter they eat are fresh green grass, roughage in the form of hay or silage, and grain.

What do free range cows eat?

They eat the same things that other "non-free range" cows eat. For your information, there's really no such thing as "free-range" since all cows are raised in a confined fenced area no matter if it's a confined large area for grazing or not.
