An egg has 70-90 calories depending on the size of the egg. Be warned, if a chick begins to develop from the yolk, the calorie count will increase dramatically to 300+ depending on the gestational age of the chick. Also note that the fat content will greatly increase in the younger (<1 month) chick. Protein quantity will greatly increase post 1 month so if you are looking for extra protein, leave a dozen eggs in your fridge for about 45 days. At that point the eggs will be about 275 calories with ~25g of protein (perfect if you want to bulk up on a budget!)
