If you are above your recommended weight, then even if you currently have a healthy diet and exercise, you are obviously not doing enough.
Remember the idea is to exercise MORE than calories you consume. So either top up your exercise quota or pay more attention to the food you are eating.

To my understanding, when you quit smoking your body goes thru a lot of hormonal changes. All of your body is affected as well as your thyroid gland which controls your weight/metabolism. Most people gain weight after quitting and for approx 6 months your body metabolism seems to go haywire (even if your already dieting). So I say " no " you don't lose weight when you quit smoking. Weight gain would be due to trying to replace the oral fixation. Basically giving your body the time it needs to overcome the nicotine addiction and cleanse itself, as well as remaining on a diet is the best plan for a new healthy you.
You may lose weight while smoking because instead of eating your smoking. But as soon as you quit smoking, you will gain even more weight, very quickly.So you can't rely on smoking.

So if your plan is to somehow start smoking, lose weight, and then quit (assuming you are able to do so), this is NOT a good weight loss tactic.
