Some people have such low self-esteem that they have to put other people down, or make fun of them, in a vain attempt to feel better about themselves.
People who put you down are usually hurt themselves. It's no use sinking to those people's level. They will tell you put downs and insults because they are not confident themself but do not retaliate.
The opposite of put down is to build up. To build up is to raise another's self esteem and make them feel better about themselves. A put down makes someone feel worse about themselves.
To get someone to understand how you feel, you sit them down and explain to them. Have them put themselves in your shoes to experience your situation.
I think people are mean because they are mean Thank You!!!!!!!!!! It's instinctual, people put people down in order to feel better about themselves and to ensure dominance.
I believe people generally put themselves first.
It usually indicates a person that is confident in themselves. Often when people put others down they feel like it will make them seem better than the other person. It doesn't but they will keep trying. People that are able to accept other people as themselves and recognise both their strenghts and their weaknesses are much happier people.
tell them how you feel. write them a letter...LET IT OUT in a positive way. Calm yourself down and ask them to put themselves in your shoes
If people can talk about someone else and put them down, they feel that makes them better. They are insecure in themselves. Not worrying about what they say and being secure in who you are is the best defense.
The question is...?
NO
* You just answered your own question. People who put other people down are insecure and by attacking their mate or others close to them it makes them feel more self assured, but not really. It similar to cheating to win instead of winning clean. You never come out ahead.
