Clarence Birdseye. In 1923, he developed a method of quick freezing fish. Soon after, he adopted his fast freezing technique to vegetables. The Birds Eye company was sold to Postum in 1929, and then later to General Foods. While he retired from frozen food, he used his millions to explore other ideas and processes until he died in 1956.
