Personally, I put the egg/s [as with any egg/s] into a pot and fill with cold water about half a centimetre over the egg/s so not to give them room to bounce and crack when boiling. [Have on high heat]
* My tip for regular hen or ducks eggs if you have opened it and find that it's slightly uncooked, then in the eggcup put it in the microwave for 10 secs, and if necessary, another 10 secs, or just scoop it out add a tiny knob of butter and mix in a cup or bowl and microwave for 1 min, or cook in a pot.
* Tip 2 - If you like, you can first fill the water at least 4 - 5 inches above the egg in a pot, sink, basin or whatever, and if it floats, then it's off, so don't eat it. Give it to a pet or bin it.
Two ways that work well:
#1 Add enough water to cover the eggs well by 1/2" to 1". Bring to a boil, turn down heat and boil 20 minutes. Immediately rinse with cold water, allowing water to run over eggs until they are completely cool. (They peel easier.)
#2 Cover with water, bring to a full rolling boil, for about 5 minutes. Turn off heat and allow eggs to sit in the water 20 minutes.
I've used both ways and there have been a few times the #2 technique will result in a not-so-quite hard-boiled egg. Eggs are always hard-boiled using technique #1.

I Will Cook The Boil Egg And I Will Eat
An egg takes 12-15 minutest to hard-boil. It doesn't matter how many of them are in the pot so long as the pot is big enough to contain enough water to cover them all.
Hard boil the egg.
About 3 minutes to soft boil a medium size hens egg, 90 seconds to soft boil a quail egg, and as for a duck egg, the food hygiene regulations (in the UK) state a minimum of 12 minutes, to kill salmonella bacteria, by this time the duck egg will be hard boiled.
