∙ 13y agoi am at a lost. i know this is for answers. but i can not find what i need on internet. i have a Woodsman wood stove, it is meduim size, some of the brick need to be replaced but i don't know how to go about getting them out, i read some and it sounded simple but mine does not look that way. Mine at the top of brick has a metal lip that holds them in, i don't know how to get them out or if i did i might not be able to get new ones in. and i can't find it on the internet. can anyone guide me in the right direction.

∙ 13y agoThis is probably going to require building permits and inspections- would hire a chimney specialist to do this. Refitting will inolve removing old fireplace, and installing new. Building Code may not allow you to connect wood stove to pre-fab fireplace- the stovepipe needs to be connected directly to the chimney. Please discuss work planned with a legitimate chimney contractor- you may change your mind on some of it.

Check with Martin for an owner's manual. Unless a fireplace is specifically rated as multi-fuel, a gas fireplace cannot safely burn wood.
You can put the TV over the fireplace as long as you take the necessary precautions but i would recommend you don't place it over the fireplace since it's an extra risk.
