which one? there is more than one model out there, we will pretend it is a whirlpool (they make almost all of them anyways)... typically you take 2, 1/4" screws off the back which will release the hood / (top) that will let you access the top were your touch pad control assembly is and your Main Control Board, pressure switch and fill valve are located.

or If you are trying to access the Pump or motor or motor control board you will go straight to the front of the washer down at the very bottom you will have 3, 1/4" screws holding on a panel remove them and you will see the parts I just mentioned, there is also a copy of the tech sheets in there, make sure you put them back after your done nosing around the tech might need to read them to help fix a problem in the future.
