By and large, parchment paper was designed for limited use in the over. It is frequently used to bake cookies and biscuits, providing a non-stick, non-chemical, easy-clean surface. If you leave parchment in at too high a temperature (e.g. broiling), or too long a time (e.g. hours), it will turn dark brown at the edges as though it were burning... which it probably is - slowly. But at regular baking temps in the 320 to 400 range, and regular baking times of 10 to 30 minutes, it's great stuff. Give it a try. Follow directions on the box.
