Yes you can. I make full size sheet pan (18 x 26) Pineapple Upside Down Cakes. The techique I use is to first spray the sheet pan with nonstick cooking spray. Then I place the aluminum foil over the sheet pan allowing it to be at least a inch higher then the edges of the sheet pan. The foil keeps the mixture from spilling out when using a shallow sheet pan. After baking I let it cool down and then flip it. Peeling the foil carefully off the cake.
No, you should never use foil to line the cake pan, nor can you use wax paper or freezer paper, because the wax coating on them will melt. Being a cake decorator, I have found that using parchment to line the pans gives excellent results. Apply a thin coating of shortening or butter (margarine is not recommended because it has a higher water content), then line only the bottom of the pan with parchment paper. Then grease and flour the parchment and sides of the pan as you normally would, including non-stick pans. Peel the parchment from the bottom of the cake as soon as you remove it from the pan. The cake will not stick and will release from the pan beautifully. But do not line the sides of the pan.
You can buy parchment paper on rolls (just as you can foil, wax paper, ect.) and cut it to fit the bottom of the pan, but I prefer to buy the pre-cut parchment, which comes in a large variety of sizes for round cake pans.
Parchment paper is also excellent for baking cookies. You don't have to grease the cookie sheet (or the parchment), and you can quickly have another batch ready to go into the oven since the cookie sheet needs no clean up of crumbs between batches. You can also reuse the same sheet of parchment paper for 2 or 3 batches of cookies.
There are a wide variety of cake pans available in today's market. The pans that are most effective are light metallic pans that are not of the non-stick variety. Cake pans come in a variety of sizes and shapes.
The best cake pan is the ones that have a non stick surface to them. If they don't stay non stick or the pan does not fill smooth then you will have to put oil at the bottom. So it's just better to get a non stick one.
Sure, I've made angel food cake in all kinds of pans. as long as the pans are ungreased and NOT non-stick, you'll be fine. Because the batter has to adhere to the sides of the pan in order to rise, non-stick or greasy surfaces don't work. The only issue you might run into is having trouble removing the cake from the pan after it's cooled.

non stick and glass pans work the best
No, super glue is not effective on non-stick surfaces like non-stick pans. The non-stick coating prevents adhesives from bonding to the surface.
