When the recorded content on such type of CD is no more useful, you can erase it by using your Operational system tool or another software, like Nero or Ashampoo. So you can record files on it again. RW stands for rewritable. I am not sure, but I think that you can add new files on a already recorded CD-RW without having to erase it.
