A Neon light is using the ionization and subsequent relaxation of the Neon gas molecules to generate the light, requiring high voltage (>100 V). An LED is a solid state electronic component, using recombination of electrons and holes in the semi-conducting junction to emit photons, by forward biasing the pn diode (~ 1 V). Neon light is in the red orange range. LED can be anywhere in the visible spectrum. LED uses much less power than Neon and may replace Neon in all applications in the future.
Neon lights
Neon lamps and neon signs are NOT incandescent. The gas is not glowing because it is hot, but because it is ionized, and the current is passing through it. this is the web where I read about neon lights. createneon
Neon lights have a greater range of color, but are more susceptible to wearing out. LED's are limited in their colors, but last longer and are generally easier and cheaper to replace or repair.
no
contact dot they will know for your state
Yes, neon lights attached to your vehicle are illegal in Oklahoma. The penalty for use is a ticket and the lights must be removed.
LED uses 90 percent less electricity to run than neon while still being noticeably brighter. LED lights will last longer because they are not overly powered by electricity. LED lights are said to last for 100,000 hours of use which is years of use indoors and outdoors.
Yes you can wire just about any light (neon, led, incandesant, etc... )to your brake light , granted it/s within the law. You plice into the brake wire, it's that simple.
No, in fact it's a moving violation.
There are quite a number of differences between organic LED and LCD. Some of the differences include illumination which is better in LED, LED consumes less power and also has light emitting diodes as the main component among others.
yes i used to use neon interior and exterior lights and i wish i would of found the led kits before because they are about 6 times brighter. You can see it clear on a sunny day.
Halogen light glows and LED is dull.
