There is no reason why you shouldn't other that many email clients can't accept large email attachments. In that case people resort to programs like SizableSend.com - It lets you send up to 20GB's of files at a time, up to 2GB per file and it's 100% free to use
If the file is not an .exe file and less than 25mb you can send it as gmail. The file larger than 25 MB need to be splitted by file splitter( such as jihosoft big file sender) and then send via gmail.
This is a very general question so it is hard to answer. Depending on what your attachments are and what email you are using there may be a size limit. If the file size is to large(ex:sending pictures, if it is too large you wont be able to send it you will need to resize the image)it wont send.

It depends which email program you use. In general, you would type out your email, then before you send it - there should be a button somewhere on the page to add attachments. Clicking that, you should be able to browse your computer for the file(s) you want to attach. Once you've finished attaching files - click on send.

In a round about way... 10mb. If you need more file support, check out a premium pay email service, or a large file support website. Toobigforemail Presently it's 25MB. And you can always split your files and send them one after the next, or try making them into zips or rar. Try searching for, "file reduction freeware." Also, look into free FTP apps, they allow large file transfers.
