You might check to see that the computer hasn't been set up to automatically go into 'Hibernation' (or Standby) mode - right click on any open space on the desktop and choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu; left click on the "Screensaver" tab at the top; left-click on the "Power" button on the lower portion of that window. This will bring up the "Power Options Properties" window. Select whichever preset Power Scheme that you wish and make certain that "System Standby" and "Turn off hard disks" are set to "Never" ("Turn off monitor" should be set to whatever your personal preference is in order to conserve power). You don't mention what kind of internet connection that you're on, so another thing that you might check is whether or not your ISP automatically boots you after a certain period of time online (common among some dial-up ISPs, but less common among broadband or "always connected" ISPs).
I'm not sure, but possibly not. I have several programs that I am trying to use to automatically suspend my HTPC. Some of them suspend it no matter what is happening, while others respect requests to wait from different programs. Also, some of them suspend the computer and will not allow it to awake on a scheduled event; others don't have this problem.
Goto to your POWER OPTIONS in Control Panel. You can turn off all Suspend and Hibernate settings there.
