well most of the time adobe air is installed when you install other adobe products. from what ive heard, it's not really bad to uninstall it. some users have experienced not so good performance after uninstalling adobe air but uninstalled acrobat and had no problems. I'm guessing air is needed for adobe to run at it's best. so no, don't really need it but if you like things running at 100% i would keep it. i keep mines and it's only using like 35mb anyway so it's no big deal.
