Windows was there first, and now the main reason why Windows is dominant is because most people already know how to use it because they grew up with/ have in workplace and don't want to mess with learning a new OS.
I'm a mac user and I find the experience much less painful than others make it seem. MS office is available on Mac, and that cover 90% of compatibility issues
BECAUSE IT IS 10 TIMES BETTER!!!!! Just watch the mac vs PC ads and look all over apple's site. pcs cant counter anything against mac besides that they're cheaper. macs cost more because they're better. They have a built in iSight camera, they have more software, and they're just much easier to use! MAC HANDS DOWN!!!

Although I respect your opinion, you have to look at the facts, and can't judge a mac and a PC by a commercial or a website.
-If you actually look at Pcs vs Macs, Pcs are about 2x faster and more powerful then a similarly priced mac.
-Macs have Microsoft's software (ex. Microsoft Word)
-Although macs have iSight's, most laptops nowadays come with cameras, or you could go to a store and get $20 web cam.
-I've found that PC's are easier to start off with, but harder to master. But that's more of a personal preference.
Only 10% of people use Mac. so not many applications and solutions are available for. Mac. Mac OS is topically a hardware dependent Firmware. Not very friendly to use except for Graphics.
PC on a large is used by most people and plug and Play devices are available. Solution are available to every problem instantly. It is easier to setup a PC then a Mac.
Because the highest recorded IQ is only somewhere around 300.
Because Microsoft abused their position in the PC market to block competition. The reason they have been losing this dominance in recent years is because most open and open source desktop technologies have actually EXCEEDED Microsoft's own technology in quality, allowing a lot of developers to simply change platforms and simply cross-compile their stuff to Windows later, which is becoming a very common development model in cross-platform software: Develop, test, and deploy in Linux and Mac, then use something like a MinGW compiler to do a cross-build for a Windows binary.
As Vetle said, the WIndows market has significant advantages. Apple has always had the idea of, as their old slogan said, to "Think Different." Their concept of thinking differently is to use the same technology as the majority of the computer world (same RAM, same CPU, same hard drive, etc.) but to make it run more slowly and charge three times as much for it. Additionally, they have convinced people that just because it is a Macintosh, it cannot get viruses when, in actuality, Macs are just as susceptible to viruses as any other machine and even more so since they can run and of the three operating systems designed for Intel processors: Mac OS, Windows, and Linux. Thus, they can be infected by 100 percent of the viruses on the market rather than just a small percentage as was the case back in the Motorola-based Mac days.
In the Windows world, people have the big advantage of competition, which makes sure that the prices stay reasonable for the machines as well as for parts and peripherals. As I mentioned in another answer recently, a couple of weeks ago, I had a client who wanted me to repair his 27-inch iMac that had a bad power supply. The cost to do this with parts and labor was over $200 and about 75 percent of that was just the cost of the part! In the WIndows world, a power supply replacement for a desktop machine would have been just $30 and no charge for labor since the job takes less than five minutes. Why would anyone who understands the technology want to pay seven times as much for the same component that serves the same purpose at the same capacity when it's not necessary? It makes no monetary or logical sense.
Something else about the WIndows world is that since it embraces about 93 percent of the entire market, chances are that any programs you want to find for a specific purpose are available and probably from a variety of publishers, so you can choose the one that seems to work best for you. You also are all but guaranteed that your data will work with just about any other person's computer since there is such a great likelihood that the person with whom you are sharing your data also has a WIndows-based machine. Further, if you ever need repair services for your computer, chances are that even in some dustbowl of a town in the middle of nowhere, you will be able to find someone who can help you. That isn't the case with Macintosh or Linux.
Now to get to Linux. It is a fun toy to play with and that is about where I classify it. Yes, it does well as a web server but it is not really user-friendly, does not have great compatibility with hardware (most manufacturers don't bother to write Linux drivers for their peripherals), and any updates have to be downloaded and then compiled and installed by the user rather than just have it all completed by an automated process within Windows.
If you want something that is going to be easy to use, has the vast majority of the world to support it, and can be used with just about any type of hardware in existence, then the choice is clear: Windows.
Mac OS X
Some people call it Mac OS 10
Mac OS X is an excellent replacement for Windows 7. You can use Apple's Mac OS X on computers made by Apple. The legal terms you agree to when installing Mac OS X prevent it being installed on non-Apple computers.
The second name of Mac OS X v10.4.5 is Mac OS X v10.4 Intel.Mac OS X 10.4 was known as Mac OS X Tiger.
Classic Mac OS games can be used in Mac OS X if the Mac is a PowerPC Mac, the game was written for PowerPC processors, and the version of Mac OS X is Tiger or older. They cannot be used on Intel Macs except via the use of a third-party emulator, such as SheepShaver.
You can use Frostwire for mac
Mac OS X - legally. Some people have altered the code in Mac OS X so that it can run on PC hardware (Hackint0sh)
[A version of Mac OS X comes with every Mac. You must pay for any upgrades to a newer version] Not if you use torrents(:
Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) needs to be purchased as it is not possible to update from Mac OS X 10.2.8
Photoshop files use the extension .psd in Mac OS X.
Mac OS X is an operating system released by Apple Inc. It is designed for Apple branded computers, which is why you will never see a Dell, or an HP computer run Mac OS X. There are only two important versions of Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server, and regular Mac OS X. Mac OS X server was designed for servers, while regular Mac OS X was designed for most computers. The current version of Mac OS X (10.6) is named Snow Leopard.
Legally Mac OS X can only be installed on computers made by Apple. Some people have had success installing it on other computers.
