Why are there different kinds of keyboards?

there are different kinds of keyboards because people don't think alike. in other words, some people prefer their keyboards looking that way instead of this. Or, simply because of their functions. it depends on the user. for instance, if you're at home; you don't need a wireless keyboard right. but if you're in a lab, it would be very convenient to use one cause you don't want to have wires everywhere do you.
