In Microsoft Word, you can find the table of contents and index features in the "References" tab. This tab includes tools for creating a table of contents, inserting footnotes and endnotes, as well as generating an index for your document.

You can add Leaders. If you go to the Tabs dialog box, you can set leaders for the tabs. Leaders are lines (solid, dashed, or dotted) that appear in the blank space created by a tab. The most common use for a leader is in a table of contents where a dotted line leads up to the page number.
Contextual tabs and menus appear when an object is selected.
When working with objects such as pictures or tables in Word, additional tabs will appear in the toolbar. For pictures, the Format tab will display with various editing options.
