Chuck Norris invented the M1A1 Abrams tank after one of his movies because he had nothing else to do.
Several weapons had the designation of M1. Assuming the question was referring to one of the most prominent weapons to fall under that designation: The M1 Garand has a length of 43.6 inches (1107.4mm). The M1 carbine has a length of 35.6 inches (900mm). The Thompson M1 and M1A1 have a length of 32 inches (819mm).
this answer is not ture for many reason one. the m1a1 is a out dated verison of the m1a2 and the most advanced tank in the world is the British Challenger 2
One can buy the M1 Garand rifle from 'CMP Sales'. Their website has pricing details for the rifle, details of where you can find a store to purchase and what are the requirements to be allowed to buy one.
The M1 Garand has not been produced since 1956. Obviously, every gun shop does not have one in stock.
The Garand is a highly collectible rifle. The last of the MILITARY Garands were made in the 1950s. If you have an original, military, unfired, new condition Garand (and not a rebuild) the value can only be determined by a competing buyer sale, such as an auction. Depending on which of the models of the Garand, this could be several thousand dollars. One that has been used but is in original excellent condition would be over $1000. PS- only unfired Garand I have seen is in a museum. Ft. Benning GA.
Probably the same way the Russians got the US B-29 Superfortress; they got ahold of one.
