Apple came out before the things we call P.C.'s today. Apple invented the Macintosh comp. and called it a power p.c. because p.c. just meant personel computer. Bill Gates and other computer guys made similar products, so Apple sued them and won, and obviously still let them make and sell their own computers, too. In the end Apples were just called mac's and other computers were called p.c.'s. Today 90% or more of the world use P.C.'s.
