An RCD stands - Resdual Current Device. It is nothing but RCCB (Residual Current Circuit Breaker) works by constantly monitoring the current flow between the live and neutral wire.

In normal operation with the two lines in balance the circuit works. If for any reason, even a small amount of imbalance in detected (as small as 30 milliamps) the breaker will trip in no more than 200 milliseconds. This is well within the limits of preventing both fire and bodily harm. Regards - Ramadass

Is a 100 milliamp RCD more sensitive than a 30 milliamp RCD?

No, the 30 mA one is the more sensitive because it is the only one that will operate at currents between 30 and 100 mA.

Will a rcd detect live to neutral fault?

No, a Residual Current Device (RCD) will not detect a live-to-neutral fault because this type of fault does not result in a current imbalance that the RCD can detect. An RCD is designed to detect imbalances between the live and return current in a circuit, such as those caused by a leakage current to ground.
