∙ 11y agoA spreadsheet. Spreadsheets usually rely on formulae to calculate numbers. That function is not part of a word-processor.
Excel is not a word processor. There are lots of things in it that a word processor has, like a spell checker, text formatting, alignment and other things. If you really wanted to, you could use it to type a letter, but that is not what it is for. It is not ideal for doing it. It would be more awkward to write a letter in it than it would be to use an actual word processor. So you would use a word processor to type letters and do spreadsheets in Excel.
Primarily you talk about "cells" in spreadsheets not word processing. However you can do tables in a word processor and they have cells.

A dedicated word processor is a program that is just a word processor and provides no other functionality. That is opposed to an office presentation package or an office suite. Office suites would include other functionality such as spreadsheets, databases, PDF converters, Flash presentations, image software, etc. If you mean a machine that is a dedicated word processor, then it is more like an electronic typewriter, but with a little more functionality. So it has software and lets you store and edit documents, and it lets you print them, but it does little else.
There is no difference in the Ms. word and word processor. If you want to create a new document and edit the file. or paragraph spell chick and other feature option ave-able in the word document.
