There is no such option in Photoshop. If you mean Vector Photoshop shapes then the shapes can be used for infinite things in Photoshop such as layers, masks, as frames, as a source for selections, as a source for actual brushes, for patterns, for exporting to other applications, used in shape blurs, used as cookie cutters in Photoshop elements. Illustrator vector brushes exist as do expression and Xara vector brushes and many others but sadly, as yet, Photoshop has no vector format brushes.

The custom shapes can be created using the pen tools within Photoshop, you can create them via work paths, you can use type to create custom shapes by converting a letter or more into a custom shape. Personally, I use Illustrator to create custom shapes and copy the shapes to Photoshop and then use the define custom shape command (found in the edit menu)

After using Ship Shape, the combs, brushes, clips, etc., are placed in a disinfectant called Quaternary ammonium compounds or "Quats" and soak for a minimum of 10 minutes. Then the tools are rinsed with clean water and allowed to dry.
