A guided communication medium is a space be mostly of solid state such as wires , where tranmission/recieveing data is only carried out within the space that the medium occupies. In the case of a wire, it's volume. Transmission is restricted to that particular space, thus it is called a guided communication. Example of this types of medium inlcude the coaxical cable, fiber optic cable, twisted pair cable...
