Transparency is possible in a number of graphics file formats. Illumination models have so far been used to determine intensity o light that is only reflected from surface of opaque objects. We didn't consider transparent object that allow some part of the incident light energy to transmit through it apart from reflecting a part from the surface. Therefore reflected light intensity so obtained needs to be modified if the object is transparent.
