None, really. It's like a ship or a boat (one sounds much bigger). Personal Computer sounds, well, personal; a workstation sounds like work.

However, PC is also used to refer to a Windows PC. (think "I'm a mac/I'm a PC" commercials)

This depends on how to define 'workstation'. Almost all modern workstations are, literally, PCs. The only difference is function and location, as they are usually connected to the company's network. In which case the advantage is obvious.
