ll for starters a physical network design well, as the name implies, involves the physical connectivity of each of your hosts on the network. this speaks of the actual physical layout of your network which includes the actual nodes, segments and hosts that appear on the actual layout. on the other hand, a logical network speaks more of data flow in your network. this may be of the different forms of network topology (e.g bus, ring, etc).

the difference of the two lies in the way they are presented. one being the real connection layout (physical) while the other is of how data flows within the network (logical).

think of it as like cars and roads. the roads represent the physical network wherein each road are interconnected and ends with a destination while the cars represent the logical part of the network wherein they move towards a certain destination within the network. although physical and logical networks vary in meaning still they work hand in hand to better define the same single and structured network.
A physical network is different from a logical network. Logical networks are defined at the Network layer by the arrangement of the hierarchical addressing scheme. Physical networks represent the interconnection of devices on a common media. Sometimes, a physical network is also referred to as a network segment

Memory in each logical partition operates within its assigned minimum and maximum values.

Physical memory is a term used to describe the total amount of memory installed in the computer. For example, if the computer has two 64MB memory modules installed, it has a total of 128MB of physical memory. Answered by: QWERTY

The term Logical Security is colloquially used to refer to electronic measures such as permissions within the operating system or access rules at the network layers such as the firewall, routers and switches.

Physical security is traditionally used to describe controlled entry doors, video surveillance and other metaphysical measures.

The overlap between the two is ever increasing since systems which provide logical security have some physical security measures such as key lock panels on server face plates and when physical systems such as the HiD card reader for the door entry systems use a server to maintain user and card records and the ever increasing number of PC based DVR's for video surveillance cameras.

What is the difference between network architecture and network topology?

Network architecture refers to the design and structure of a network, including components, protocols, and technologies used for communication. Network topology, on the other hand, refers to the physical or logical layout of devices and how they are connected in a network, such as bus, star, ring, or mesh. In essence, network architecture defines how components work together, while network topology defines how components are arranged.

What is the network topologies function?

Network topologies is the means in which a network is structured. There are two types being physical and logical. Logical topology shows how data is delivered between a network.

Are network layer address physical or logical?

Layer 3 network addresses are logical addresses and can be easily changed by software.

Difference between logical topology and physical topology?

The physical connection is layer 1 of the OSI model, and is the medium through which the data is transfered. i.e., cables The logical connection is layer 3 of the OSI model, and is the network portion. Using the Internetwork Protocol (IP), each host is assigned a 32 bit IP address. e.g. 192.168.1.1

What is the difference between physical and logical channel?

A physical channel refers to the medium through which data is transmitted, such as a cable or wireless signal. A logical channel, on the other hand, represents a specific path or communication route within a network that allows data to be exchanged between devices. In simpler terms, a physical channel is the physical connection, while a logical channel is a virtual pathway for data flow.

What Is the manner in which the physical components of a LAN are connected together?

Network topology is the manner in which the physical components of a LAN are connected together. Network topology can be either physical or logical.

What is physical data structure and logical data structure?

Physical data structure: This is the physical equipment involved in the network eg router, cabling etc). Logical data structure: This is how the information flows internally and externally (the transfer of information from one node to another on the network).

what is Network about?

Network topology is the arrangement of the various components that make up the structure of a computer network. Network topology may be depicted in a physical or logical manner.

Storage Area Network What is the difference between a LUN and a volume?

LUN = Logical Unit NumberVolume = a physical diskDepending on how the storage is configured a LUN may correspond to: a single physical volume as a single logical unitseveral physical volumes being treated as a single logical unitone partition within a physical volume formatted as several partitions (with each partition as a single logical unit)The concept of a LUN makes it easy for programs to access the disks and makes it easy to perform maintenance on the disks by shuffling the LUNs between physical disks as needed. The programs do not need to be changed or reconfigured when a physical drive is removed, replaced, or upgraded to one of greater capacity (or converted to RAID storage).
