Firmware is the stuff that makes your computer what it is, for example the BIOS is firmware. The computer would be useless without the firmwear. Software is what makes the computer do what you want, such as a word processing program, music program or browser.
Firmware refers to the software that is embedded within a hardware device. Lineware on the other hand refers to a company that deals with software development.
Softwareis programs which can be installed and used by the user for a specific purpose. Firmware on the other hand is used by the computer system for maintenance and security purposes, an example for thisis Windows Update.
Hi, the difference of firmware and drivers is the application of this piece of software. The most electronic hardware only needs firmware to run basicly. E.G. a DVD-player needs firmware to know how to read a CD or DVD. But to have it accessed under a operating system like Windows you need a driver to access the CD or DVD or watch a movie. To visualize: A car needs an engine to drive at all, but needs a person (driver!)to control it. Cheers, Menno
Hardware: is in your computer, if you wanted you could pick i up and touch it. Firmware: you cannot touch it, or modify it. windows update would be a good exampleo of firmare - you can choose what updates to install but you cannot move them, or delete them.
Extensive firmware interface is defined as a specification that originates from Intel. It defines the interface between platform firmware and the operating system. It tries to reduce dependence of the OS on the firmware implementation details.
Heuristic detection looks for the characteristics of viruses and malware, while signature scanning looks for specific files known to be malware. In other words, heuristic detection can find recently created malware on a system, because it "acts" like other malware. Signature scanning looks at a list of known malware file names, and then sees if there are any of them on the computer.
Malware is any software (program) designed to cause problems. A virus is a type of malware that attaches itself to other programs and sends itself to others. Other types of malware include worms, which are like viruses, but they run without attaching to another program, and trojans, which are downloaded by the user with the promise of doing something useful.
Firmware:-It is pre-written program in machine language that is stored in ROM (Read Only Memory).Example:-BIOSFirmware boots up computerized devices.Humanware:-The personnel which are related to installation, maintenance, operation and testing of computerare called humanware.Example:-Programmer, Hardware/Network Engineers, System AnalystsRegardsPhoenixXL
In Europe they are also called the 400D. I don't Know about Australia, but there is a big difference in price. If memory serves me well the Firmware is different and of Course the Rebel Badge.
