Social security and education
Working for Homeland Security does not require a college degree for all of their positions. Many of their positions require either a high school education, or a combination of work experience and education that they feel is sufficient for the tasks of each job.
If a person is applying for a security job, they should mention any experience they may have in security. They should also mention any education that is related to providing security to a business.
The type of education that you need to become a security engineer would be an engineering degree. It is usually a 4-6 year degree. You would also need a minor or focus in security. Most state colleges offer this program.
It affected the education in WW2 primarily because of security issues for the schools.

Income security and health and education.
Most private security position do not require formal education but may require experience. If you want to study something relevant, it would be helpful to study criminal justice.
