Hidden partitions are typically found on Brand name PCs such as HP (hewlette packard), Dell, Acer, and Gateway. This hidden, or system partition, is used to do system recoverys (not to be confused with system restore). The data for those partions contain everything needed to get you're system up and running should you have severe software problems (windows not starting, or crashes every now and then, or if you want to restart things like when it was brand new)
Download &/or purchase a copy of Acronis True Image Home. This allows you to create a "Secure Zone" - a hidden FAT partition; enable "Acronis Start Up Manager" - f11 startup option to boot into the Acronis toolset from the hidden partition; and create an image your boot (or other) partition in the hidden partition.
