I'm pretty sure it's simply the French word for mouse, which is "souris" (feminine). And a mouse mat is a "tapis de souris" (masculine). Hope that helped! :)

Where to connect the mouse on the desktop computer?

There are two different possiblities for connecting a mouse to a desktop PC computer. In the past there were what were called PS2 mice that plugged into a special circular connector on the back of the computer. You don't see these on current computers. On current computers you connect a mouse to any USB port. I don't know about Apples, even thought they were the innovaters that came up with the mouse.
