download the Windows XP Professional Preactivated ISO torrent from Google (open the torrent file with utorrent) and burn the ISO file to a disk using IMGburn. DO NOT SIMPLY COPY THE ISO TO A DISK, YOU MUST BURN IT USING A SPECIAL IMAGE BURNING SOFTWRE!!!
I strongly recomend downloading ImgBurn and using that to burn.
Then ,simply boot off the C-ROM you burned and Windows XP setup should start.
During setup, disabl any Hard Disk controlers like RAID fron your BIOS or you will get s BlueScreen (BSOD) during setup.
if you want a clean install of Windows XP, select "Format Drive" to erase all data from the disk.
If you want to leave Windows Vista instact and install XP alongside Vista, select "Keep Current Filesystem Intact" and windows xp will be installed to C:\WINDOWS.0 instead.

you cannot downgrade to XP while running vista unless the Program Compatability Assistant is disabled in Vista.
see the following link to learn how to disable program Compatability Assistant:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931709
Also, type "Services" in the Start Menu search box.
Click on the icon labled "Services" (NOT "Compnent Services") and hit enter.
Stop the service "Program Compatability Assistant". Then , you should be able to downgrade.
Try running the "SETUP.EXE" file in compatability mode by right clicking, clicking the Properties menu, and hitting the "Compatability" tab at the top. Hit the "Run this program in compatability mode" and choose some random OS older that Windows XP.
Now, retry running the SETUP.EXE file and check if that works.
If not, then, what can I say? The only way to do full downgrade would be to do clean install from bootup.
I recall that it was impossible to downgrade Windows NT 4 to Windows ME...
see Microsoft Knowledge Base (MSKB) artikles about it, and keep googleing it...
don't gve up, Windows Vista sucks, XP rocks!!!
P.S. have u tried Ubuntu? it's outstanding...
Download the newest version, 9.10, at:

You can not simply downgrade to Windows XP from Windows Vista. If you want to completely remove Windows Vista in favor of XP, you will have to format the hard drive and reinstall the OS from scratch. Windows XP will not install on top of an existing Vista installation.
You can't downgrade Windows Live Movie Maker. However, you can download v2.1 (Xp) or v2.6 (for Vista) since each is a stand-alone application. I have posted links to the downloads in the Related Links section below.Note: You cannot download the Xp version of Windows Movie Maker on an operating system other than Windows Xp. The download will not work. Choose the download compatible with your operating system. Also, if you have Windows 7, you can only download version 2.6 (Vista).
No.
If your computer had Windows XP on it and you upgraded to Vista, I heard you could call Microsoft and tell them how displeased you were with Vista and wish to downgrade back to XP. They will then deactivate your Vista Product Key and give you a XP product key, you will also have to have a Windows XP cd.
You DO NOT have to wipe your hard drive or "downgrade" to run windows XP on a vista computer. Download and install Microsoft Virtual PC. its free and will allow you to run another operating system in a window of the current one you are running. You can have both!
The operating system for this netbook is Windows Vista Business, although it also comes with a media kit to downgrade to XP Professional if needed and includes disks for both XP Pro and Vista Business.
The ability to downgrade from Windows Vista Business to Windows XP Professional was primarily dictated by Microsoft's support lifecycle policies and the availability of relevant licensing and support from Microsoft. The general downgrade rights for Windows Vista Business to Windows XP Professional ended with the end of extended support for Windows XP. Microsoft officially ended extended support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. This means that after this date, Microsoft no longer provided security updates, non-security hotfixes, or any other form of support for Windows XP, which effectively marked the end of any official downgrade paths or support for users wanting to move from Windows Vista to Windows XP. Therefore, the ability to officially downgrade from Windows Vista Business to Windows XP Professional effectively ended on April 8, 2014. Most programs that run on Windows XP will also run on Windows Vista.
You must aquire a copy of Windows XP from anywhere you can get one, and use this http://www.buildeasypc.com/sw/windows_xp.htm to install it!
you must reformat the drive XP is on-Then install 2000 as a new OS. Because it is a downgrade-not reformatting the drive will cause XP to not allow the downgrade.
