Most problems (freezing, blinking, etc.) can be solved by resetting the Kindle device. Then read their Help page and see if you can find a solution there.
If that doesn't work, however, the best thing to do is contact Customer Support. In my experience they answer very promptly.
Well if you were fortunate enough to have bought the protection plan, all you need to do is go onto Amazon.com and look up the kindle hotline number. You call, and if you bought the protection plan they'll send you a free replacement kindle. Warning: If you don't return the broken kindle, you WILL be charged for the replacement!!
