Time division space switching:-
suppose there are 'n' input lines and 'n' output lines connected to the bus each via switches.
The switches being controlled by the decoder using the counters and control memory etc.
So in the most basic form there is a counter connected to an n to 2^n decoder which controls the connection of the input and the output line to the bus.
2 basic types are:
input controlled time division switching
output controlled time division switching
circuit switching data bearer channel time-division multiplexing
Space division multiplexing uses spacing to separate channels in a communications link. These separations may be done by frequency, insulation, or distance (spacing). Time division multiplexing is one way of doing the spacing separation. Space division multiplexing may use other techniques, such as TDM, FDM, etc., to maintain separation so that the conversations do not collide with each other.
In space division switching,there is a dedicated path established between the callin and called subscribers for the entire duration of call.This meams the speech siganls are transferred between them in the duration.The time format of T1 or E1,the PCM samples occurs at 125 microsecond.Now the dedicated switching elements remains unsed for almost 120 microseconds.This the defect of space division switching. Data transfer will be faster in packet switching providing the setup time in circuit switching is greater than the time required to send a packet. If not, that is setup time in circuit switching takes less time, then circuit switching is quicker.
It is the division between the hours and the minutes.
When you transfer you have to sit out a year. If you transfer within Division I-A. If you transfer to a sub Division I school. no sit out is nessecary.
