In a way yes but you can still do things like word processing.
Wrong, you can get just about any software you want, but the ChromeBook was designed as a Netbook client so much of the software will reside (and often run) on a remote server.
However there is a small amount of software that can be installed and run directly.
Unfortunately no. You can on only install programs from the chrome store and there are no flight simulators on chrome store. A chromebook is just more for surfing on internet.

No. Internet Explorer is a Windows only program, and probably will never be transferred to any other operating system.
It varies, but when I had to replace a cracked screen on this Chromebook I was charged about $100. It took them a little over a week to get the part, then replaced it in 20 minutes while I waited. But then considering that I only spent about $150 to buy this Chromebook in the first place, it was a bit of a trade off of either replacing the screen or buying a new Chromebook! I chose to get the screen.
A Chromebook is a type of laptop computer. The things that make a Chromebook different from most other laptop computers is that is runs Chrome OS which is intended to operate as a network based cloud computing client. Most programs for the Chromebook (unlike on standard laptops) usually do not run on the Chromebook itself, instead they run on a server computer at some site on the internet and the user interface is all that runs on the Chromebook as a client of that server computer.
An online system is one that is only usable while it is connected to the internet. A program is offline if you can use it anywhere without an internet connection.

putting a program on a computer or the internet
Except for very simple things, yes.The Chromebook and its operating system Chrome OS were designed to operate as clients over the internet to cloud based servers, which is where most programs for Chromebooks actually run (not native on the Chromebook itself as on other laptops). As Chromebooks access the internet using wifi, they cannot access the cloud based servers without wifi and will not be able to work for any programs that actually run on those servers.
