You have to have hardware compatible with pro tools, but you can buy it from digidesign website, or almost any guitar center/sam ash store i believe. Like I said if you don't have compatible hardware you can't even start pro tools.

I think it needs at least Vista. Check from the manual.
Lambda audio/midi interface was made for Cubase LE and is not compatible with Pro Tools. Now with Pro Tools 9 saying it supports any previous interface, I'm not sure. I have not updated from 8 to 9 yet. So if you plan on using pro tools 8 or earlier than no it is not.
its compatible with mac win xp n win vista tried win 7 n it didnt wrk
Yes Versions after 7.4 are compatible with the 32-bit version of Windows Vista. No version is compatible with the 64-bit version. Version 9.0 (the latest one) now requires Windows 7 (32 or 64-bit) and will not run on Windows Vista.
Edirol audio and MIDI interfaces are compatible with ProTools 9.
Neither is as good as the full version, but from those two - Pro Tools MP9
There is no Pro Tools LE 9.
