i want settings mac address my router...only internet access by mac
Well, an IP address will allow you to get on the internet (Public/External IP address, eg. 203.50.6.14). A MAC Address only comes into action internally in a network, Most notably during the process of DHCP, and APR tables. A MAC address is used to identify machines based on their network cards physical address within a network, where as your Public or External IP address is used to identify you on the internet.
It is a list on your internet router that filters computers by their MAC address, which is the fingerprint of the network adapter.
ARP (address resolution protocol) is used in this case. Basically, one computer asks, for example, "who has IP address 10.0.0.15" (the message is sent as a broadcast), and the computer with this IP address replies, including its MAC address.ARP (address resolution protocol) is used in this case. Find Home Menu, highlight & select the Systems Settings Icon, select "Internet Settings", Tap "other information". Tap confirm MAC address, your systems MAC address will be displayed on the server.
An IP address has a consistent and predictable route for traffic coming from the internet. A MAC address is not routable.
A media access control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to network interfaces for communications on the physical network segment. Everything attached to any computer network has a permanent MAC address that moves with the hardware no matter where it is connected.IP address is the current interface address for your local system to the larger public internet. The IP address can be STATIC (permanently assigned) or DYNAMIC (changes every time you connect to the internet). The alphabetic names are for humans. They are translated to the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format for the computers to use. When you type in the name of a website the name is looked up by your browser. The MAC address is for hardware. The IP address is for communication on the internet.
The MAC (Media Access Control) address.
MAC address is fixed to the hardware device (for example a network card) and can not be changed. IP address is assignable. The default IP address for a device can be computed by converting the four right-most numbers of the MAC address from hex to decimal. The MAC address refers to the physical address assigned by the Network Interface Card manufacturer. Example - 10.03.d5.f3.45.fc , where are an Internet Protocol address is given to a computer when it gets connected to the network. Its divided into four parts , separated by fullstops.
plug your computer in when you xbox 360 is hooked up
It identifies the computer on the LAN.
No, they can't have the same mac address, because mac address is an id for a machine therefore the ip addresses are registered to the DHCP table accordingly to the mac address. So if you spoof the mac address lets say having two machines with the same mac address what will happen is that only one machine at time would be allowed once it disconnect then the other can connect. Why spoofing a mac address? I guess one of the reasons is to defeat a network administrator when they secure their network by filtering the mac addresses so by spoofing the mac address you will be able to access the internet.
