Yes its average although it is getting rather outdated. yes it is good. you can do multi tasks, like Surfing the net, with few tabs open, listen to music and it still will not be slow. However when you open 12 tabs,it then gets pretty slow.

If you are more than an average user who wants to do multitasking or wants a fast computer than it's good.

But if you want your computer be very fast,if never won't to wait for your computer or if you want to do some serious multitasking then I recommend core 2 quadre

How "good" the Core 2 Duo Processor is really depends on what you are using your computer for. If you're looking for a processor which is capable of handling word processing and light internet surfing, this model is fine. Many PC gamers, however, would prefer to upgrade.

Which is the better processor an AMD Athlon 64 X2 or an Intel Centrino?

That depends. Centrino is more of a technology used on processors, rather than a processor itself. Look at the actual processor type when you are looking at the specs. if it is a Mobile Pentium, the Athlon 62x2 is a better processor in most cases. However, if it is anything from the Core Duo or Core2 Duo line, they will be better than the Athlon in most cases.
