A server typically costs more than standard computers as they have a harder job role to play in computer networking. This is because they can support more hardware such as RAM, CPU's and Hard Disk Drives.

You can use a standard computer and run it as a server but it is likely to run less efficiently than a 'Pre-built Server'.

You can pay any amount for a server, just as you do with a standard desktop PC; dependant on what task(s) the server is needed for.
