Hold down Ctrl as you click on all the cells you want to select.
You can convert an Excel file to many different formats. Just Save As and select the format you like.
Clicking a cell will select it. You can select more by dragging out over them.
You can open a 2007 Excel spreadsheet with Excel 2003 if you save the file in Excel 2007 using "Save As" and select the 2003 compatibility mode.
Deselecting is removing the selection of a cell. So if a cell is selected and you click onto another cell, the first cell is no longer selected. The exceptions to this are when you have the Ctrl or Shift keys pressed when you click on another cell, or if you hold the mouse button and drag, in which case the original cell will stay selected and you can select more cells.
To select non-adjacent cells in Excel, hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard while clicking on the individual cells you want to select. This will allow you to select cells that are not next to each other within a worksheet.
You should select and copy (shift + V) the table you want to edit. Next, right click within the selected table and click save as. Select the correct format - excel spreadsheet and you can edit it in excel.

You do not really import an excel spreadsheet into HTML. You can SaveAs and select HTML as an option.
Click on the letter at the top of the column; that will select the entire column.
That depends on the version of Excel. Up to Excel 2003 it would be A1:IV65536. From Excel 2007 onwards it would be A1:XFD1048576.
When you select a column header in Excel, all the cells in that column are selected. This means 65536 cells (the maximum number of rows in Excel). Similarly, if you select a row header, this will select 256 cells (the maximum number of columns in Excel).
