You would put files onto a flash-drive just like you would any other drive.

When you plug in a flash-drive it shows up as a removable hard disk & is assigned a drive letter. Open up "my computer" or "computer" depending on what program your computer is using and look for a drive E:; F:; G:; or the bran name of your flash-drive. Example: Lexar .

Once you have opened up the file, you simply drag the file(s) you want from your computer onto the flash-drive, you can also copy the file you want from your computer and paste it onto your flash-drive.

For Windows and Linux (and possibly for Macintosh) a flash drive is plugged into the USB port on the computer. The flash drive will be recognized as a new, removable hard drive up to the remaining capacity. Files on the drive can be read or written to, and new files can be added.

As far as the operating system is concerned, it's just another hard drive like the one in the computer it booted off of.

You just move files and folders to the drive as you would any other drive. And you can remove or delete them as well.

Once unplugged the drive disappears.

first you determine which usb drive it is in, then, to save, you go to the save window, then use the dropdown menu to go to 'my computer'. you then open the icon 'removable storage(:X)', with X being the letter representing the usb slot it is inserted into.

There are several different ways to do this. If the documents already exist and you are using windows, click the Start button, then click "Computer."

Simply drag your documents onto the flash drive's icon (after you have inserted the drive into your machine). If you make changes to the documents or start a new one and the flash drive is still plugged in, you can also choose that as the save location.

Plug your flash drive into the USB port on the computer. If a folder does not pop-up immediately, go to your "My Computer" folder and find the USB drive there. Open the folder for the USB drive. Also open the folder the document folder containing the files that you want to put on the flash drive. Drag the documents over to the flash drive folder and a copy will be placed in the folder. Once all of the desired documents have been copied over, you can remove the flash drive from the computer.

What is a flash memory card?

A flash memory card is a card that holds digital data. An example of a flash memory card would be an SD Card, Micro SD, Memory Stick Pro Duo, Flash Drive (Thumb Drive, USB key). All Ipod models except the ipod classic use flash memory. Flash memory has no moving parts, but, hardrives do. Those are classified under, non-flash memory. Flash memory cards have different memory capacities. The higher the capacity, the more expensive it will be. But, the higher capacity, the more stuff can be put on it. Hope this helps
