I believe it's only Windows Media Player and possibly Windows Media Centre which allow you to post "what I'm listening to" to Windows Live Messenger (formerly MSN Messenger)
MSN Messenger for Macs can be downloaded from Microsoft's MSN Messenger for Macs page (See links below).

As MSN, I am assuming you are referring to MSN Messenger. The MSN Messenger series was finalized and released November 16, 2002, but has undergone many updates and newer versions.
You might have had a problem where MSN messenger will not show what you are listening to. This is now irrelevant as MSN messenger no longer exists.
